Circle: What old photo interested you and why?

New Note Packet

New Unit: Economics and Globalization and Competition.
Our Mantra for this unit is that, you are ALWAYS competing.
Students will understand the effects of globalization on our community, our state, our country as well as their own lives.

Activity: Write in your notes what you think it means that you are always competing.

Activity: How have the economics of daily purchasing changed over the last 60 years?
1) Five columns on a piece of paper.
2) In the first column, list every item of clothing and items in your bag.
3) In the second column, using the database of old businesses, list where you would purchase it in the "old" Oxford Hills.
4) In the third column, figure out where the item could have been made in the Oxford Hills.
5) In the fourth column, write down where the item was actually purchased.
6) In the fifth column, write down where the item was actually made.
7) Finally, on the map on the wall, post your items in the country they were made.
