Activity: Whenever you write a paper or do a project, you need to learn to ask for help and seek new ideas.  Two people at your table stand up and find a table with two empty seats.  When seated, ask, "what's your best piece of advice?"  Share and record. Switch.

Activity: Finishing your Economy Essay
1) Work on finishing the required parts of the essay with the new information you have.
2) Work to verify that the essay is structurally sound by color coding:
Bold, italicize and underline the thesis
Color purple language used to help the reader know where they are, or know where they are going
Color red the claims that support your thesis
Color green evidence that comes from a specific source
Color blue warrants that clearly explain how the evidence support the claim

Activity: Independent Reading
Target: After completing this unit, you will be able to determine how an author develops a theme in  a literary text.
When you're done working on your essay, read.

Summative Assessment on Independent Reading
We have taught you the following:
-How understand your character through Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
-How to understand your character through Meyer's-Briggs
-How to identify the theme of the a book by examining the back of the book or reviews
-How to read between the lines to determine meaning
-How to determine theme by looking at the problem your main character having and how they are trying to solve it
-How to read a short excerpt word-by-word and figuring out everything that is not said
You will pick three of these to analyze your book

Activity: Diploma
What is a diploma?  How much of a difference does getting a college degree in your life? Using the internet, find some articles that highlight the advantages of getting a four year college degree.  These could be money related, health related, happiness related, upward mobility related, future success related.  You should find at least two articles that explain the possible advantages(stated above) about getting a four-year college degree.  You will be writing 2 paragraphs that support getting a college education using the claim, evidence warrant format.  These will be turned in.
