Understanding Culture: Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

In order to make a good decision in the Rumford/Cape unit, you need to understand what people need in order to be happy and successful.
Learning Target:  I can explain how Maslow's hierarchy of needs works using Cast Away as an example.
   1) At your table look up Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of needs

   2) Cold call, explain the levels.

   3) On a piece of chard paper at your table, create a chart of the major plot points of "Cast Away"

   4) On that same piece of paper, explain where Chuck was on Maslow's hierarchy at those plot points.

   5) Cold call: explain according to Maslow's hierarchy, was chuck trying to meet at any given time.

Understanding Communities: Describe the perfect community

In order to make a good decision in the Rumford/Cape unit, you need to first define what you expect from a community so that it allows for happiness and success.
Learning Target:  I can explain the specific attributes of a community and the quality of each needed for personal growth and success.

   1) Brainstorm the attributes of a community.

   2) Cold call, share out.

   3) For each of the categories, what qualities do you expect a community to provide for its citizens.

   4) Create a short presentation that explains the attributes of the perfect community.

For out upcoming Mock Economy, you are going to need a safe place for your money.
Learning Target:  I can open my bank account, deposit money and transfer money to other people.
