Vocabulary Test: Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Hierarchy on board, students look up terms then use Cast Away to explain what needs chuck was meeting at specific times in the movie.

4 students will be going to Cape, 4 will be going to Mountain Valley next week. We need to know what they need to ask and look for to determine what the underlying values are of that place.
Unit: Rumford or Cape? Census Data
Activity: Using from from Rumford and Cape Elizabeth you will be looking for similarities and differences between the two towns in order to figure out where to move.
Learning Target: I can use data and information to explain how my choices determine who I will become.
1) After looking at the data from the census, you will be writing TWO paragraphs for your essay.
2) Each paragraph will use a statistic from the census data to explain an underlying value (or lack of a value) in either Rumford or Cape. Basically, the paragraphs are trying to explain why either place would be good or bad to move to.

Research: We will be watching the documentary "The Rivals" to understand the culture of the two communities.
