Book Essay Final
1) Create a document in Google Drive; name it "[Lastname] Book Essay Final"
2) Share the essay with me: brewsterjburns@gmail.com
3) Write the essay keeping in mind what will be assessed:
-Clear thesis that attempts to make a complicated argument about your book
-At least three body paragraphs (more = better grade) that support your thesis
-Each paragraph must have a clear claim, evidence and VERY CLEAR warrant
-Evidence must be cited directly from the text and include the page where you got the quote
4) Grading: up to an 88 with an essay that shows the existence of a theme; up to 100 with an essay that either explains how a theme is developed over time, or what the book says about that theme.
Other
Grades have been entered for independent reading, and paragraph completion. Check your grades to see if they have been impacted. If you wish to improve that grade, show up each day with independent reading completed and a paragraph on that reading.
