Video of Fall of Rome
We'll be watching the video then each group will brainstorm the important items in the video and taking notes.
-Using a ten-foot piece of string, create a time line that starts at the beginning of the Roman Empire and ends with today. On it you must include the following:

Julius Ceasars reign
Nero's reign
Christianity becoming official religion on Roman empire
Fall of the Western Roman empire
The Fall of the Eastern Roman empire
Christopher Columbus landing in the "New World".
The American Revolution
Invention of the phone
Invention of TV
Invention of the Internet
Your birth
All items on the timeline must be proportionally placed
Lil' Fun
Make a Roman Empire Halloween costume!
Who's that?
Pick an historical figure from Rome and write a one-half page double-spaced biography.
Empires Falling
Make sure you have this document about why the Roman Empire fell on your computer.
You will be broken up into groups and given two reasons that you must read, decipher and understand. Your group will then put your two reasons into the simpliest language possible that you can and then will be presenting out to the rest of the class. You will then be looking for modern examples of similar things happening here today in the United States. (We will help you with this) Once all the reasons have been presented and modern examples found you will be going around the building with your evidence and interviewing adults to see if they think the same things that led to the fall of Rome are happening here in the USA. You will be recording responses and sharing with the class at a TBD. Please keep all of your work because you will need it for a future writing assignment.
