Scientific Revolution:
Using your computer or textbook, find one discovery or invention that changed our world that occurred during the scientific revolution 1500-1700.  You will be presenting what you find.  What was the event or idea, who discovered it, why it was such a big deal, how it changed the way people thought, worked, lived, etc.   This will be done in groups of no more than three people/self chosen.

1. Define/Explain the Scientific Revolution
2. What was the discovery/invention?
3. Who discovered it?
4. How did invention/discovery change the way people think?
5. How does it impact us today?

Learning Target:  When you get done with your research you will be able to explain from memory a discovery made during the scientific revolution and explain its impact today.

Enlightenment:
1. Circle: Do you believe people are good or evil?  Break room into good and evil and have people defend their choice.
2. Crash Course on Enlightenment and its connection to the American Revolution.
3.Close reading of Hobbes' Leviathan chapter 13.
4.Close reading of John Locke Treatise on Government and Montesquieu's Spirit of the Laws.
5.Would you be willing to go to a school where your classmates(look around the room) make all the decisions about how school is run?  Why or why not?  You will write on this for 2 minutes and then share.
