Reminder that you'll be writing an essay that explains how your author developed a philosophy or theme, so pay attention.

Bioethics Unit
Learning Target: In this unit, I am measuring your ability to gather and take information from a variety of sources to explain something and to support a position.  Little targets: 1) MLA citations; 2) Clear thesis; 3) Use of specific evidence.

Question: What should the unit writing be about?
Mr. Toohey and Mr. Burns will frame the issue, then:
   -Free write the questions that come up in your mind (5 minutes)
   -At your table, share your questions, compile, prepare to report out (5 minutes)
   -Report out (10 minutes)
   -Mr. Burns and Mr. Toohey will report out what they heard and are thinking of doing.

Current Focus Question: Given the choice, will you select the traits of your future child? In other words, is eugenics a good thing or a bad thing?

All research tries the answer the above question

Finish Research: History of Eugenics
   -Remember to get the information for your works cited page and MLA citations.
   -For each source, identify how reliable you perceive it to be.
   -Research various sources finding information about the history of eugenics.
   -At your table, take turns sharing important information.
   -Prepare a short presentation to class.
