Stock Market Game: You will be learning about the stock market this year by actually participating in a virtual stock market.  You will be given $100,000 dollars to purchase stocks with.  First, watch this video. Your task is to do some research into:
1. What is the stock market?
2. How does it work?
3. What is a stock?
4. Why is it important?
5. How does the stock market affect you directly?
6. How do you make money?
7. How do you lose money?
8. What are some tried and true strategies for making money in the market?
9. What are some important events in the history of the stock market?
10. Report out.

Maslow Activity: Using your computer or mobile device you will be finding the following information:
1) What is Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs?
2) Who was Abraham Maslow?
3) Why was his idea of an Hierarchy of Needs such a revolutionary idea in Psychology?
4) How does Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs work?  i.e. How does one move up and down?
5) How does Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs apply to you?  i.e. What level are you currently in?
6) What in the world is Self-Actualization?????
7) Prepare a presentation.

Crazy Rome Activity:  We've all seen what it takes to keep up with the Kardashians and the crazy stuff you see on TMZ and YouTube but were people just as crazy or crazier in the Roman Empire.  Your task it to find some bizarre facts about Rome, its people and leaders and create a textual evidence paragraph that you will share with the class and talk about a comparable behavior today.

Future: Why did Rome fall?  Are we heading the same way?
