We will be writing the essay on Hemingway's three short stories: "India Camp," "The Doctor and the Doctor's Wife" and "The End of Something." See all the stories here.

1. Take our survey we filled out Friday about issues in the USA.
2. Look over survey and with the person across from you make a judgement about whether America is on the wrong track, right track or is this just another bump in the history of the USA? Civil War, Civil Rights, Vietnam...etc.
3. Open google classroom and click on Fall of Rome/USA assignment.
4. Identify your 3 biggest concerns and write them down in the document.
5. Rotate with you computer and share and defend your top reason. This is a chance to modify if you choose.
6. Rotate again and repeat.
7. Divide the room by how you feel America is doing. Decline, Same, or getting better? Put into perspective the Civil War, Civil Rights, Vietnam...etc.
8. At table, discuss how we could know if we should be worried? Ye- Anti-semiticism?
9. Is there a connection between what America is going through and what Rome experienced?
You will be taking notes figuring out what the 8 reasons.

15. What is the evidence and how would it make you feel if it was happening in the USA and do you think it was a major reason Rome fell? Thesis- I can understand why Rome fell because if (Evidence, Evidence Evidence) happened here in the USA I could see why the Roman Empire eventually fell.
