Learning Target: By the end of class today, you will be able to explain the philosophy expressed in the Allegory of the Cave.
The Matrix
We will continue on our quest to understand what Plato was saying when he told the story "The Allegory of the Cave" by watching "The Matrix." Ultimately, and most importantly, we are working on understanding the concept that people either create or discover solutions to all of life's problems based on their understanding of how the world works. This is what a philosophy is. Both "The Matrix" and "The Allegory of the Cave" present similar views of how one can understand the world (which are very different from how you see the world now).
Learning Target: By the end of the film, you will be able to explain how the director used symbols to make a point and support the movie's theme.
