Plato's Allegory of the Cave
Puppet Show
Given some sticks, paper and tape, create a puppet show that tells a story.
Allegory of the Cave
First, we'll watch this video, next we'll break up and read this text.
Finally, we will sketch out the parts of the Allegory to understand them.
The Matrix
We will continue on our quest to understand what Plato was saying when he told the story "The Allegory of the Cave" by watching "The Matrix." Ultimately, and most importantly, we are working on understanding the concept that people either create or discover solutions to all of life's problems based on their understanding of how the world works. This is what a philosophy is. Both "The Matrix" and "The Allegory of the Cave" present similar views of how one can understand the world (which are very different from how you see the world now).
