Today, we write an essay that lays out different perspectives on going to war with ISIS and defines your position.
Things to figure out:
Thesis:
-Before making the decision about going to war with ISIS there are a lot of things one needs to understand.
-What are the parts of the essay?
These questions will be answered as you compile and write the essay.
Topic sentences: War with ISIS
- one thing is that soldier can come back with PTSD
- ISIS is growing in the US and the middle east.
- ISIS doesn’t send people back to original countries.
- you build friendships with people you have to mourn and move on.
- soldier can go nuts and hurt themselves and others.
- fighting in war can create a lot of emotional baggage.
- ISIS has a lot of money and is trying to get chemical weapons.
- the geography of the middle east and its borders has been a battle ground forever.
- we are like the world big brother we fight for everyone else even though they don’t want us to.
- we stopped a group like ISIS before and we can do it again.
- middle east has always been a mess and we have tried to help but its never worked so why try again?
- ISIS might try and attack us as a publicity stunt to gather support and troops. They are in competition with Al Queda for recruits.
- There are many religious and ethnic groups that are separated by artificial borders that ISIS is trying to bring together under new borders that make sense to the different ethic groups.
- war is really expensive in both money and lives.
