Vocab: Transitions (in writing), affluence, disparity, homogeneous, heterogeneous
Personal Reading: No library visits--smooth transition and focus on the book.
Circle: Would you rather live near people that think the same as you, or where their are diverse perspectives? Which do you think has more diversity of thought: Rumford or Cap?
Writing: Choose one of the values that you wrote down in your Child Profile--what are 3-5 other values that relate to it or support that value? What (if any) values might be in tension with your chosen value? [for example, your value might be Leadership, something that Fame could compete with if you hold both values].
Choose one quote you jotted down during Part 3a of "The Rivals." Choose one that shows both positive and less positive attributes. Introduce the quote and write out the warrant for the quote.
- Who is good at note taking?
- Who is outgoing and able to ask all of our questions?
- Who is a good listener?
Before: What's the "in" thing? At tables, brainstorm what styles dominate at OHCHS in 2025.
During: As a table group, examine a past yearbook for styles that were "in"
Brainstorm elements of deep culture and how you think it would look in Mountain Valley vs. Cape Elizabeth.
After: What elements of culture have the greatest impact on you? (Which ones sneak their way most into your life?)
