Clean Up: Run your essay through Chat GPT to catch grammar, spelling, capitalization errors.  Press submit when done. Choose ONE paragraph that you think shows your best work.  Highlight it.  Write a brief BOLDED description below it that states what makes it important/valuable as an example of your growth as a writer. 

Brainstorm: As we walk the line between war with Ukraine, what do you think Tim O'Brien would tell us before we go to war? 5 lines.

Exemplar: Mini-presentation about the story, "Ambush."  As you listen, take notes. 

Assignment Overview: The Independent Jigsaw Project.  Review learning targets, expectations, deadlines.

2. Meet with people with the same story.
3. Set a deadline for reading completion
4. Read the story independently.  Take notes for yourself as you go--use the note taking template.  
5. Come together.  Design a slideshow.
6. Practice slideshow on your own.
7. Present slideshow to OTHER students. 
8. Take notes as other students present.
